The miracle of the oil in
the menorah lasting for eight days is the basis of the celebration of
Hanukkah. We wear the menorah to remind ourselves that God is still in the
miracle business! If He performed this miracle in the time of the
Maccabees He can do the same in our lives. He knows our point of need. At
times we become weary and depressed but by wearing the menorah we remind
ourselves of God's miraculous power. No problem is too great for Him.
