Learn Davidic (Messianic) Dance as Worship
Moriah Ministries of Bainbridge Township, a
Messianic Jewish ministry, will offer a Davidic (Messianic) Dance workshop on August
19, Sunday, from 1:30-5:00 PM. The Workshop will be held at Tikvat Yisrael
and First Assembly located at 1370 Richmond Road, Lyndhurst.
Margaret Keck, Davidic (Messianic) Dance choreographer and the Kadosh L’Adonai Dance Team will teach the Workshop. Sonia Bihary, well
known Cleveland area worship leader, will open the Workshop with a brief
worship selection. Snacks and water will be provided. The cost for the
workshop is as follows: Early bird registration $20 paid in advance
(Deadline August 6) After August 6 the cost is $30. At door, the cost is
$35. Group rates for five or more is $15 each but must register by August

The workshop includes: step by step instruction for
three to four dances, a class on How to Choreograph, a folder containing
printed notation for each dance, warm ups, stretching techniques, and
snacks. Techniques on dancing with a tambourine will be taught as well as
one dance using the tambourine. For each dance, there will be a short
Biblical teaching. These workshops are dynamic, life changing events that
not only teach men and women the fundamentals of Davidic (Messianic) Dance but also
teach how to enter a deeper place of worship.
Participants are asked to bring a favorite piece of
music to choreograph dance, boom box, tambourine, water bottle, small
towel, notebook, and pen or pencil for notes. Comfortable clothes should
be worn. Dress in layers including short sleeve shirts. Shoes should
provide good support such as sneakers. A second pair of dance shoes (i.e.
ballet slippers or shoes with leather soles) is beneficial.
Davidic (Messianic) Dance is a form of worship to God.
Traditional Israeli folk dance steps are combined with Messianic Jewish,
Israeli or Christian music. The dances range from simple to more complex.
They are danced in a circle or a line. Sometimes streamers and tambourines
are used. The dances vary in tone from reverentially devotional to
exuberantly joyful.
Moriah Ministries produce and distribute
instructional Davidic (Messianic) Dance videos internationally. Margaret Keck,
cofounder, has been a speaker for Women’s Aglow throughout Ohio. She has
been on Christian radio and television including the local Trinity
Broadcasting Network and the 700 Club. She teaches at conferences,
seminars, and retreats. Keck has written a Messianic prayer/devotional,
Walking On The Highway Of Holiness. Dance accessories and their full line
of videos will be for sale. Their ministry has recently returned from a
trip to Israel where they filmed their eighth instructional dance video.
