10 Day
Inspirational Tour
September 4-13,
2008
Hosted by:
Tom & Margaret Keck
|
We designed this tour so our guests
can include their children. With our Messianic guide, we will not
only visit the traditional scriptural and historical sites, we
will also include locations for the young and young at heart.
Additionally, we plan to meet with various Messianic leaders in
Israel to learn how the Lord is moving in His land amongst His
covenant Jewish people. |

A life
changing experience!
Itinerary subject to change while touring for the best interest of the
group
Day 1: Departure from US (Sept 4, Thursday)
Today we embark in the afternoon on our journey to Eretz Yisrael – the
Land of Israel. Prepare yourself for a life-changing experience. Get some
rest on the flight…soon you will be walking where Yeshua (Jesus) walked!
Day 2: Arrive Tel Aviv (Sept 5, Friday)
We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in the morning where we are met by our
Messianic Israeli guide who will accompany us during our entire stay in
Israel. We travel north to the Sea of Galilee where Yeshua (Jesus)
began His ministry. We arrive at
Ma’agan, a beautiful kibbutz on the
southern shore of the Galilee, with time to relax and enjoy the beautiful
surroundings. After dinner we will have a Meet & Greet to become better
acquainted with our fellow travelers.
Day 3:
The Galilee (Sept 6, Saturday)
Following breakfast, our morning travels take us along the eastern shore
passing Kursi-Gedari the sight of the exorcism and drowning of the swine.
We continue on to sites associated with Yeshua’s teaching. At
Capernaum we visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue and Peter’s home.
Then we travel to a hillside overlooking the Sea where Yeshua delivered
the Sermon on the Mount. Afterwards we proceed to Tabgha on the seashore,
the site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes We enjoy a fish lunch
before seeing the ‘Jesus Boat’ and cruising on the Sea of Galilee. This
brings to life the experiences of the fishermen disciples. In Tiberias, we
visit the Galilee Experience where a video makes 4,000 years of Galilee
history come alive. To end the day, those that wish can be baptized in the
Jordan River. After dinner we will gather to hear from a congregational
leader in Israel. We will be able to ask questions about being a believer
in Israel.
Day 4:
To Jerusalem (Sept 7 Sunday)
On the way to the Jerusalem, we visit many sites beginning with Zippori,
‘the ornament of the Galilee’, as called by Josephus Flavius. Towards the
coast, we stop at Mt.Carmel, where Elijah slew the prophets of Baal. From
the mountaintop, we view the Jezreel Valley below; the climax point during
the battle of Armageddon. Along the Mediterranean coastline, we see the
Roman Aqueduct and tour the ancient ruins of Caesarea before reaching
Jerusalem. We will be staying at a luxurious 5-star hotel, the
Dan
Panorama, for the remainder of our tour.
Day 5:
The Old City (Sept 8, Monday)
To start the day we view the City of Gold from the Mount of Olives. Just
down the slope at the
Garden of Gethsemane among the ancient olive trees, we recall how
Yeshua prayed shortly before His arrest and crucifixion. Likewise, we can
remember for forty days He spoke to His disciples about the Kingdom of
God. After crossing the Kidron Valley we proceed to the Garden Tomb for a
special time including partaking of the elements in remembrance of the
Passover meal when Yeshua spoke of the New Covenant. Before entering the
Old City, we stop at the Upper Room. Passing through Zion Gate we proceed
to the Kotel for a time of prayer and reflection. Continuing through the
Old City we visit the Tower of David Museum near the Jaffa Gate. We gather
after dinner to hear exciting personal Israeli war stories from our guide
and driver.
Day 6:
Dead Sea Area (Sept 9, Tuesday)
We head east and south from
Jerusalem to
Ein Gedi, "Spring of the Goat," an oasis on the western shore of the
Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Because of its warm climate and
abundant supply of water, the site developed a reputation for its fragrant
plants and date palm groves. This is where David hid from King Saul, and
near where God defeated the enemies of the Israelites by praise and
worship led by King Jehoshaphat. Next, we take a cable car ride to the
mountain top fortress of Masada and learn the history of the famous zealot
stand against the Roman legions. Afterwards, we can have a relaxing float
in the Dead Sea. Before returning to Jerusalem, we stop at Genesis Land in
the Judean hills for dinner as we go back to the time of the Patriarchs,
complete with costume, dramatic presentation, and authentic food.
Day 7: From Ancient to Modern Jerusalem (Sept 10, Wednesday) We
tour the City of David which begins with a breathtaking observation point
overlooking Biblical Jerusalem which sends visitors 3,800 years back in
time to the days of Abraham, when the first foundations of the city were
laid. The journey quickly heads underground to some of the newest
archaeological excavations at the site. Here, while exploring the recently
excavated fortresses and passageways, visitors relive King David's
conquest of the Jebusite city as described in the 2nd Book of Samuel. The
underground tour finally ends at the Gihon Spring, the major water source
of Jerusalem for over 1,000 years and where, according to the Book of
Kings, Solomon was anointed king. Afterwards, we have the choice of
visiting Yad Vashem (the Holocaust Museum) or the Zoological Gardens and
Biblical Zoo.
Day 8:
Archaeological Excavations (Sept 11, Thursday)
We travel south to visit the National Park of Bet Guvrin. We will have a
rewarding and fun time as we participate in an actual archeological ‘dig’
at Tel Maresha. The activities include digging, sifting, pottery
examination and touring the National Park of Beit Guvrin with an exciting
crawl through unexcavated cave systems. On our final afternoon in
Jerusalem, we will have free time to spend as we chose. One choice could
be the ‘Jaffa Road Junket’ which includes shopping on Ben Yehuda Street
and the Mahane Yehuda marketplace and also visiting the 24-hour Prayer
Tower. Another option is to walk the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulcher.
Day 9: Final Day in Israel (Sept 12, Friday)
We visit Mini Israel, a park with hundreds of miniature models that range
from ancient to modern Israel settings. We proceed to a forest where we
each plant a tree to benefit the ecosystem of Israel. From here we tour
nearby Neot Kedumim, a Biblical Landscape Reserve. Neot Kedumim draws on a
variety of disciplines — such as Bible scholarship, botany, zoology,
geography, history, and archaeology — to bring the Bible and its
commentaries to life. We have a special farewell Shabbat dinner hosted by
a Messianic Israeli couple. Then we have a late night flight back to the
USA.
Day
10: Arrive Home (Sept 13, Saturday)
We arrive back in the US on the east coast in the early morning for our
connecting flights home with memories to last a lifetime.
